Terms of sale.
These terms apply when you pay Dr Michaels Aibangbee for anything offered on drmichaelsa.com: books, speaking engagements, wedding ceremonies and support payments. Dr Michaels Aibangbee is a sole trader (ABN 67 786 385 732), supported by a small team. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Dr Michaels Aibangbee and that team.
The team handles orders, bookings, payments and questions. Dr Michaels signs the books, gives the talks and conducts the ceremonies.
Psychotherapy, counselling and clinical supervision are not sold here. They are booked and paid through Renovate Health Consortium Pty Ltd, under its own terms. Justice of the Peace services are free.
Your rights under Australian law
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. If a book is faulty, or a service is not provided with due care and skill, you are entitled to a remedy. The ACCC explains these rights at accc.gov.au.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in Australian dollars. Dr Michaels Aibangbee is not registered for GST, so no GST is included or charged.
- Book payments are processed by Square. Support payments and invoices are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on the payment provider's secure pages, and they go straight to that provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- You receive a receipt by email for every payment. Invoices show the ABN above.
Books
- Signed copies of Do Not Bow are posted within Australia by Australia Post. Postage is a flat $12 per order, shown before you pay.
- We post orders within 5 business days. If a signed copy will take longer, we will let you know.
- Signed copies are sold while stocks last. The shop shows how many are left, and when they sell out it points you to Booktopia and Amazon.
- If you choose to collect at the launch, collect your copy at the RAIN book table on Sunday 15 November 2026 and bring your receipt email. If you can't come, contact us and we will post it for the usual $12 postage or refund you in full.
- Church and study-group orders of 10 or more copies are invoiced, with payment due within 14 days. The books are sent once the invoice is paid.
- If a book arrives damaged, or we send the wrong one, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a replacement or a full refund, including postage.
- If you change your mind, you can return an unread copy in its original condition within 14 days of delivery for a refund of the book price. Return postage is yours. Copies dedicated to a named person can't be returned for a change of mind.
- Books bought from us at events are covered by the same terms. Keep your receipt.
- Copies bought from Booktopia, Amazon or any other retailer are covered by that seller's terms.
Speaking
- A booking is confirmed once we agree the details in writing and the deposit of 50 per cent of the fee is paid.
- The balance is due within 14 days after the event. Travel and accommodation outside Greater Sydney are agreed beforehand and invoiced separately.
- If you cancel more than 30 days before the event, we refund the deposit, less any travel costs already paid that can't be recovered. If you cancel within 30 days, the deposit is kept.
- If you move the date, the deposit carries over to the new date once.
- If Dr Michaels has to cancel because of illness or an emergency, we will offer another date or refund everything you have paid.
Wedding ceremonies
- Dr Michaels conducts weddings as a religious celebrant.
- Your ceremony date is held once the booking agreement is signed and the deposit of $300 is paid. The agreement sets out the full fee and what it includes.
- The balance is due 14 days before the ceremony.
- If you postpone, the deposit moves to the new date once, as long as Dr Michaels is available.
- If you cancel, the deposit covers the preparation and paperwork already done and is not refunded. Any balance you have paid is refunded in full if you cancel more than 14 days before the ceremony.
- If Dr Michaels can't attend because of illness or an emergency, we will help you find another authorised celebrant and refund what you have paid for anything not provided.
- The Marriage Act 1961 applies whatever has been paid. Your Notice of Intended Marriage must reach Dr Michaels at least one month before the wedding.
Support payments
- Support payments help fund the writing, research and media projects of Dr Michaels Aibangbee. They are payments to a sole trader. They are not donations to a charity, they are not tax-deductible, and you receive nothing in return.
- If you would like to make a tax-deductible gift, Edge Community Care Services, a DGR-endorsed charity, takes donations on its own site. Giving to The Transformation Edge goes to the church directly, not through this site.
- Monthly support can be stopped at any time, from the Support page, the link in your receipt email, or by contacting us. It stops before the next payment is taken.
- If you make a support payment by mistake, contact us within 14 days for a full refund.
Refunds
Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with. They usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days of being approved.
