Meet Michaels.
His work happens in lecture theatres, counselling rooms, community halls and a church in Western Sydney.

The story so far
Dr Michaels Aibangbee is a psychotherapist, academic, pastor and author based in Western Sydney. His work spans clinical care, research with migrant and refugee young people, community leadership and faith.
In the counselling room he is Clinical Lead and CEO of Renovate Health Consortium. At Charles Darwin University he is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Course Coordinator of the Master of Psychology (Clinical). He is also an academic in the School of Medicine at Western Sydney University, where he completed his PhD in Health Sciences.
His research, supported by the Australian Research Council, works with migrant and refugee young people through participatory action research. It asks how families, communities, services and policy shape their health, and it treats young people as partners in finding answers.
Beyond the university and the practice, he leads Edge Community Care Services, a DGR-endorsed charity working alongside refugee, asylum-seeker and migrant communities, and serves as Senior Pastor of The Transformation Edge. He is the author of Do Not Bow: The Cascade of Compromise, and his radio, podcast and YouTube work goes out through the EdgedIn Network.
The threads connect. Each sphere is a different room for one commitment to dignity, equity and belonging.
At home
Michaels and his wife, Pastor Osas Michaels-Aibangbee, serve together at The Transformation Edge. They are co-authors of the Speak Life books, for adults, young people and kids.
They live in Western Sydney with their three children.
