Privacy policy.

This policy explains how Dr Michaels Aibangbee handles personal information collected through drmichaelsa.com. Dr Michaels Aibangbee is a sole trader, supported by a small team. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Dr Michaels Aibangbee and that team. It follows the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

This site collects no health information

Clinical enquiries, bookings and client forms are handled by Renovate Health Consortium Pty Ltd on its own systems, under its own privacy policy. Please don't send health information through this site. If you do, we will not keep it here and will ask you to contact the practice directly.

What we collect

• Enquiry forms. Your name, email address, organisation if you give it, the topic, and your message.
• Newsletter. Your email address, and the date you subscribed.
• Site analytics. Counts of page views, referring sites and device types, measured without cookies and without identifying you.
• Payments. When you buy a book, pay an invoice or make a support payment: your name, email address, postal address if a book is posted, and what you paid for. Card details go straight to Square or Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

The site does not use advertising, tracking cookies or social media pixels.

How we use it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to arrange the talk, research, ceremony or order you asked about, and to send the newsletter if you subscribed. We also use payment details to process payments, send receipts and keep the financial records that tax law requires. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it except with the services that run this site, or where the law requires it.

Members of the team see your details only when they need them to answer your enquiry or handle your order or booking, and they keep them confidential.

Where it is stored

This site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which also runs the domain's DNS. Email sent to drmichaelsa.com addresses, including messages from the enquiry forms, is handled by Google Workspace (Google LLC). The headings use a typeface served by Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to load it. Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States, so information you send may be stored or processed overseas. Before using a provider, we check that it protects personal information in a way that is substantially similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Book payments are processed by Square AU Pty Ltd, part of Block, Inc. in the United States. Its checkout pages are on Square's own site, and Square sets its own cookies there to prevent fraud. Square's buyer privacy notice explains how it handles your information.

Support payments and invoices are processed by Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd, part of Stripe, Inc. in the United States. Its payment pages are on Stripe's own site, and Stripe sets its own cookies there to prevent fraud. Stripe's privacy policy explains how it handles your information.

Automated decisions

This site makes no decisions about you using computer programs. Nothing you submit is used to make an automated decision that could significantly affect your rights or interests. Square and Stripe screen payments automatically for fraud and may decline one they judge risky. That decision is made by the payment provider, under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the work, then delete them. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and your address is removed. Records of payments are kept for five years, as Australian tax law requires.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it, by writing to talkto@drmichaelsa.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you are concerned about how your information has been handled, please write to us first at talkto@drmichaelsa.com. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
