Accessibility

Accessibility.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, so that everyone can use it, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they rely on.

How the site is built

  • Text and controls meet AA colour contrast. Body text is dark ink on off-white, at 14.8 to 1.
  • Every page works by keyboard, with a visible focus ring. The sticky header never covers the item in focus.
  • The Michaels Index opens each entry by keyboard, and its photographs appear on focus as well as on hover.
  • Buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels, and most are larger.
  • With reduced motion switched on in your device settings, nothing on the site moves.
  • Pages use headings and landmarks in order, so screen readers can move through them quickly.
  • Every image of a person has a text description. Recorded audio and video come with captions or transcripts. The live radio stream has no live captions.
  • Forms have visible labels and explain what went wrong if something needs fixing.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200 per cent without losing content.

Known limitations

Some pages link to other organisations' sites, which are outside my control. Embedded media from other platforms may not fully meet the standard.

Report a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, please write to talkto@drmichaelsa.com with the page and what happened. I aim to reply within five working days and, where I can, provide the information another way.
